Barry Hancock

Partner

Barry Hancock is a founding partner of both Cienda Partners and the McKinney Fund, and he serves on the boards of both companies.  He brings over twenty years of diverse real estate acquisition, management and investment experience in a variety of real estate asset types, including office, land development, multifamily, hotel, healthcare, industrial and recreational projects.

Prior to the formation of Cienda Partners, Barry was President of a personal holding company he founded to acquire and manage real estate investments in Texas. The portfolio includes raw land, medical, industrial, retail and office properties.

In 2000 through 2004, Barry was a founder and partner of Precedent Equities, LLC. While at Precedent, he was tapped by one of the nation's largest REITs to manage the disposition of a portfolio of eighty healthcare facilities located across the United States; he secured approximately $300 million in sales proceeds. Additionally, Barry acquired and repositioned several healthcare facilities, creating over $40 million in incremental value for various partnerships.

From 1996 to 2000, he was a Senior Acquisitions Officer for Crescent Real Estate Equities, the second largest office real estate investment trust in the United States. As a member of the acquisition team, he was involved in over $1 billion of acquisitions that included the Carter-Crowley portfolio in Dallas, Houston Center in Houston, Energy Center in New Orleans and the Sonoma Golf Club in Sonoma, California.

Prior to Crescent, Barry was employed by Crow Family Holdings. 

Barry has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University, is a member of the Dallas Assembly and an Associate Board Member of the Dallas Museum of Natural History.
